ADHD
-
Living with ADD/ADHD can feel frustrating—you may struggle to focus, stay organized, manage time, or control impulses, no matter how hard you try. Deadlines pile up, conversations slip away mid-thought, and no matter how much effort you put in, it may feel like you’re always playing catch-up. But here’s the truth: you’re not alone, and this isn’t your fault.
ADD/ADHD isn’t about laziness or lack of motivation—it’s a real, neurobiological condition that affects both children and adults. But with the right support, structure, and treatment, you can harness your strengths and turn frustration into focus.
At Joiner and Lane Psychiatry and Counseling, we create personalized treatment plans that fit your life, combining medication management, behavioral strategies, and practical tools to help you regain control, improve focus, and build confidence in your daily routine.
✨ You are not broken. You do not have to struggle alone. Let’s work together to help you unlock your potential and take control of your life—on your terms.

Mood & Emotional Disorders
-
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, causing excessive worry, racing thoughts, and physical symptoms like restlessness or rapid heartbeat. Our treatment options include therapy, medication management, and coping strategies to help you regain control.
-
Depression is more than just feeling sad—it can impact your energy levels, motivation, sleep, and overall outlook on life. It can make even simple tasks feel overwhelming. Whether you’re experiencing mild, moderate, or severe symptoms, we provide evidence-based treatments, including therapy and medication, to help you find relief and restore balance.
-
Bipolar disorder involves shifts between episodes of depression and periods of elevated mood, energy, or impulsivity. These mood swings can disrupt work, relationships, and daily functioning. Our treatment approach focuses on stabilizing mood through medication management and therapy, helping you achieve a sense of consistency and well-being.
-
SAD is a type of depression that occurs at certain times of the year, often in the winter months when sunlight is limited. Symptoms may include fatigue, low mood, difficulty concentrating, and changes in sleep and appetite. We offer treatment options such as therapy, medication, and light therapy to help manage symptoms and improve overall well-being.
-
Life transitions, stress, or unexpected changes can sometimes feel overwhelming, leading to feelings of sadness, anxiety, or emotional distress. If you find it difficult to cope with a major life change, adjustment disorder may be the cause. Therapy and short-term treatment can provide support, build resilience, and help you navigate these challenges with greater ease.
-
DMDD is characterized by severe temper outbursts and persistent irritability in children and adolescents. These emotional responses are more intense than expected for their developmental level and can impact family life, school, and relationships. Treatment focuses on emotional regulation strategies, therapy, and, in some cases, medication management to help children develop healthier coping mechanisms.
Trauma & Stress-Related Disorders
-
PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, leaving lasting emotional and physical symptoms. Individuals with PTSD may struggle with flashbacks, nightmares, heightened anxiety, and emotional numbness, making it difficult to engage in daily life. Our approach includes trauma-focused therapy, medication management, and coping strategies to help you regain a sense of safety and control.
-
Unresolved trauma can impact your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, even long after the event has passed. Symptoms may include hypervigilance, difficulty trusting others, avoidance of reminders, or emotional distress. Our providers offer compassionate, evidence-based care to help you process your experiences and move toward healing in a supportive and safe environment.
-
Grief is a natural response to loss, but it can feel overwhelming and isolating. Whether you’re mourning the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, or another major life change, you may experience sadness, numbness, guilt, or even physical symptoms. Our therapy and support services help you navigate the grieving process at your own pace, offering tools to honor your loss while finding a path forward.
Sleep & Fatigue-Related Conditions
-
Struggling to fall asleep or stay asleep can impact your mental and physical well-being. We help identify underlying causes of insomnia and provide tailored treatments, including medication and behavioral therapy, to restore healthy sleep patterns.
-
Persistent fatigue can be a symptom of mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, or sleep disorders. Our approach focuses on identifying underlying causes and providing treatment to restore energy and focus.
Obsessive-Compulsive & Personality Disorders
-
OCD is characterized by persistent, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that interfere with daily life. These compulsions may provide temporary relief but often reinforce the cycle of anxiety. Our treatment approach includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and medication management to help reduce distress and regain control over thoughts and behaviors.
-
Personality disorders affect the way individuals think, feel, and interact with others, often leading to challenges in relationships, work, and emotional regulation. Symptoms vary but may include rigid thinking patterns, difficulty managing emotions, and impulsive behaviors. Our specialized therapy approaches, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive therapy, help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve interpersonal relationships.
-
BPD is characterized by intense emotions, unstable relationships, impulsive behaviors, and difficulty with self-identity. Individuals with BPD may struggle with emotional regulation and experience rapid mood shifts or fears of abandonment. Our treatment plans often include DBT, emotion regulation strategies, and medication management to help individuals gain stability and improve their quality of life.
-
Psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, can cause hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, and difficulty distinguishing reality from perception. These symptoms can be distressing and impact daily functioning. Our approach includes medication management, therapy, and long-term support to help individuals manage symptoms and improve their overall well-being.
Eating Disorders
-
Binge eating disorder involves frequent episodes of eating large amounts of food, often in a short period, accompanied by feelings of guilt, shame, or loss of control. Unlike other eating disorders, binge eating is not typically followed by purging, but it can lead to emotional distress and physical health concerns. Our treatment approach includes therapy, nutritional counseling, and, when appropriate, medication management to help you regain control and build a healthier relationship with food.
-
Bulimia nervosa is characterized by cycles of binge eating followed by purging behaviors such as vomiting, excessive exercise, or laxative use. These behaviors can cause serious physical and emotional health issues, including anxiety, depression, and digestive problems. Our comprehensive treatment approach includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), nutritional support, and medication management to help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms and achieve long-term recovery.
